It was attended by twenty (20) key players in the water resources sector. The resource persons included Stanley Kibe Ng’ang’a (Ph. D student in Civil Engineering, TU-K), Prof. G. Thumbi and Dr. Okwadha both of  TU-K, Prof. Nyadawa of JOOUST, Dr. Mbindyo and Engineer P. Kibetu   both of JKUAT.  Mr. Benedict Ngula, a Research Assistant also participated. Water resources issues in terms of availability, quality and groundwater exploration using GIS techniques are some of the topics that were discussed. The recently developed groundwater potential map for Makueni County was also discussed. This map is a tool that enhances the accuracy in positioning of boreholes because it shows the likely yields of such boreholes thereby reducing chances of borehole failure.
